Hydro-climatological data is crucial for multiple agricultural, ecological, and hydrological applications. Nile Research Portal aims to support local, regional and international researchers and practitioners with information-based decision making. This portal is comprised by four main modules: i) a user authentication module, where registered research collaborators can access the platform; ii) an interactive map, where users can explore the location of the ground-based stations; iii) a download panel, where users can retrieve the data; and iv) a comparison module, where users can compare two time series of a selected variable. The hydro-climatological data included in the Nile Research Portal consist of publicly available ground-based streamflow and precipitation time series with their corresponding metadata.
All code used for the development of the Nile Research Portal is stored in GitLab (University of Oxford’s code hosting platform) and can only be accessed by the SOGE staff, the developers, and the administrators of the portal.
